Gonzaga University 1971 Vintage Ballcap

History: When the Big Sky Conference expanded to 8 teams and 2 divisions for the 1971 baseball season, the Gonzaga Bulldogs began a 4 year stretch of consecutive Division titles. At one time during the 1972 campaign, they rattled off 28 consecutive victories. Coach Larry Koentopp credited at least fifty percent of the victories to the rowdy fans of 'The Snake Pit" student section. The Gonzaga Bulldogs are currently members of the West Coast Conference and play their home games at the Washington Trust Field and Patterson Baseball Complex.
