History: After playing for the Birmingham Black Barons in the Negro leagues, a young Willie Mays (#12) made his minor league baseball debut for Trenton on June 24, 1950 in a game at Hagerstown, MD. After hitting a stellar .353 for Trenton, he was promoted to Minneapolis and found himself in a New York Giants uniform in 1951.
